I went through a paper-based technical interview that was very C++ focused, followed by two manager interviews.

For the paper portion, I answered questions using pencil and pen. The first steps were to find bugs in a C++ function—syntax errors, logic errors, and similar issues. Then I had to explain a C++ virtual destructor.

The last parts asked me to implement C++ functions. After that, I spoke with two managers, so it wasn’t purely technical on paper; there was still time for conversation with leadership.

I didn’t receive an offer. Looking back, the written C++ debugging and virtual destructor question were the moments that most clearly showed how specific their technical bar was.
