The first thing I did was talk with the recruiter, who took a lot of time walking me through the product and what the role would actually be like.

That helped the process feel grounded, not just like jumping straight into interviews. After that call, I went into a first stage hour coding test where I was given an object class representing JSON-like data. I had to write code to retrieve a particular object.

The second coding test was also hands-on, focusing on getting a value from an array under specific constraints. I didn’t pass that round, and what stuck with me was the interaction style: the interviewer had another activity on a separate screen, and I wish they’d mentioned it upfront instead of my noticing it mid-interview.
