I was in the first round of coding challenge interviews.

Both interviewers seemed busy, and when I asked questions it took a few repetitions for them to respond.

The problem itself was easy: palindrome validation with a few extra characters allowed between the main palindrome characters. I got an automated email from the recruiter about not being selected, so I never had much back-and-forth after the first coding screen.

Even though the task wasn’t hard, the overall interaction felt like it lacked engagement.
