My process was unusual in that they didn’t run a separate test for shortlisting people.

I was shortlisted based on my resume, and then I went straight into two rounds of personal interviews. Both rounds were technical, with no managerial or HR interviews included.

Because everything was technical, there wasn’t much room to compensate with general storytelling. The difficulty felt high enough that the technical screening mattered a lot, since I couldn’t rely on a later round to broaden the evaluation. The structure was simple—resume first, then two technical interviews—but it also meant I needed to be confident in my fundamentals right away.

I didn’t end up receiving an offer.
