I went through a smooth, fairly well-organized process with a total of four rounds.

After HR, I had technical discussions and coding, and then there was an HR discussion that turned into a salary conversation. The technical parts felt challenging but relevant, and the overall vibe was that they understood what they were looking for.

After I cleared the rounds and was told I was selected, everything took an abrupt turn. The company informed me there was a hiring freeze for the specific position I’d interviewed for. Instead of that role being moved forward, I was offered a different role in another location/state with a much lower salary than what had been discussed earlier.
