After I applied online, my adviser recommended me, and the process moved through a formal university screen first, including checking credentials like GPA and testing requirements.

Once that cleared, I had a single phone interview because I was an international student.

The call felt straightforward compared to more multi-round processes—I didn’t get pulled into lots of additional stages afterward. Once the interview was done, I received the offer. The thing that surprised me was how linear it felt after the initial screen, and how quickly the final decision came once that one phone conversation was completed.
