The interviews I experienced in this pathway were very lab-centered.

I met with the professor and talked about why I wanted to work in the lab, including the projects I’d be joining and the skills I expected to develop. I also got to meet graduate students in the lab and discuss what their research actually looked like day to day.

In another similar lab conversation, I spoke directly with the PI, who was polite and willing to go deep. I’d already looked into the lab, so we talked about the research in detail, and I got a tour while we discussed what the work involved. I also met a research assistant there, which made the whole thing feel like a real preview
