I interviewed for an Account Executive retail sales role and had a slightly more structured start, including an assessment, before an interview with the assistant manager.

Website assessment step — After applying online, I received an assessment the next day, and once I finished it I was called to schedule.
Assistant manager interview — I reviewed my experience, discussed whether I could promote the store credit card, and talked through what I’d do in a difficult customer situation.
Compensation question — Toward the end, I was asked about my pay expectations. Outcome: I was hired after the interview—the takeaway was that demonstrating comfort with sales (including credit card promotion) mattered.
