The American Mathematical Society Research Analyst interview experience

From there, the discussion turned into what I preferred to focus on and how I approached my graduate work.

The whole session leaned heavily behavioral rather than technical. There weren’t any coding-style tests like LeetCode, and the questions stayed anchored to my background and what I wanted to do next. I left feeling like the interviewer was clear about what the role would involve and genuinely attentive as I explained my project.

I didn’t receive an offer, but it didn’t feel hostile or overly difficult—more like a good-fit screening based on how I’d work and what I was interested in.
