My interview journey revolved around speaking directly with the hiring professor and keeping it anchored in the CV.

I had a shorter conversation—about half an hour—where she went through items on my CV, described the project I would be working on if selected, and asked about my career plans. It felt like they were mapping my experience to a specific research direction.

In another similar moment, I also had an interview conducted by the PI along with a research fellow. That conversation started with general questions about myself and then moved into technical questions related to their research field. I ended up waiting about a week for an offer after that.

What I remember most from that overall pattern
