I was invited to campus, and the visit included checking out the city and campus and staying in a hotel for free.

They also provided an additional stipend, which made the whole trip feel genuinely supported.

During the visit, I learned about specific faculty and saw the research being presented. I was impressed by both the city and the campus, especially with the research work that was shown, and that made the offer feel meaningful.

It ended with me taking the offer, and the experience felt rewarding overall rather than stressful or purely evaluative.
