Tesla Software Engineer interview experience

Fremont, CACandidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through an onsite interview for an engineering role and then found myself waiting for a written offer after verbal confirmation.

Once the verbal part was in place, the remaining steps felt procedural rather than interview-like.

During the waiting period, I kept thinking about how different it felt from the onsite day itself. The onsite had the energy of evaluation, while the after-onsite phase was mostly patience—watching for the moment that the verbal confirmation became something official.

The experience ended with the expectation of a written offer, and my honest reflection was that the hardest part wasn’t only being interviewed; it was enduring the uncertainty of the handoff from conversation to paperwork.
