Tencent Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I received an offer from Waymo for a senior engineering role, but it was a contract position lasting one year as a TVC.

It felt like an official yes, yet also clearly more time-bounded and specific than a traditional full-time offer.

What stuck with me was how different the offer type was from what people usually imagine when they hear “senior engineer.” Even though I’d gotten the offer, the contract duration changed the overall feel of the decision, and it left me thinking about how that kind of structure would affect the work and stability over the next year.
