Tencent Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Hard

Negative

GermanyPosted Apr 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The hardest part of my interview was less the questions and more how the interaction went.

The interviewer felt indifferent and didn’t really guide me when I got lost, even though it was obvious I was stuck.

That meant I had to rely on being solid from the start, especially on fundamental computer science and engineering topics. Without that, the momentum died fast because there wasn’t any scaffolding to help me find my way.

It didn’t work out and I didn’t get an offer, and honestly that experience made me reflect on how much being “prepared enough to start well” mattered when the interviewer wouldn’t step in.
