After getting into the process, I dealt with a sequence that mixed coding and discussion.

There was an online coding assignment that leaned on Spring Boot. Then I moved into a hiring manager round where we talked about my past work, and concurrency in Java came up as well.

The most frustrating part was the pair programming round. I was given an existing codebase with a bug, and I worked through fixing it. Even when I did manage to resolve the issue, the project still didn’t build, and the interviewer didn’t provide a clear hint or help me troubleshoot the build failure. The net feeling was that the round was harsher than it needed to be, and that lack of guidance made it harder
