My technical interviews leaned into lower-level, detail-heavy questions and felt tougher than the typical resume-and-behavior loop.

One screen focused heavily on C programming concepts, with a lot of Q&A and trivia rather than a clean live-coding task. It also gave me the distinct impression that the interviewer wasn’t fully settled on what exact questions they wanted to cover, which made the whole thing feel less smooth than it could’ve been.

Later, I hit a different kind of “hard technical” moment where the questions were far less familiar. During one technical interview, I had two prompts: one was framed around pirates and gold coins, which threw me off because it didn’t match the software interview style I expected.
