Susquehanna International Group Software Engineer interview experience

The coding portion centered on optimization rather than just getting to a working solution: they handed me an approach and expected me to improve it, and I had to explain my reasoning in follow-ups. It felt like they cared a lot about how I iterated under time constraints.

Later rounds added more evaluation around completion and design thinking in a way that didn’t look like the usual system design interviews I’d seen elsewhere. One of the final steps included a second coding interview followed by a design interview that focused on application code rather than the entire system architecture.
