I had both a phone interview and an onsite.

What stuck with me most was the tone of the manager conversation—it felt odd and like the manager was overselling the team to me.

The bigger issue was what they seemed to be aiming for: the vibe was long hours and intense expectations, described in a way that felt more like running a sweatshop culture than building a healthy work environment in the US. It didn’t feel like a place I wanted, and that came through clearly in the way the onsite was presented.
