My first attempt was a pretty intense 2-hour HackerRank coding challenge.

It was tough, and the difficulty level caught me off guard at first, but in a way that also felt consistent with the expectations of a large company.

Even with how hard it was, I ended up feeling okay about the experience overall because I at least got the chance to fully attempt it rather than stopping early. I didn’t end up with an offer, but the main takeaway was the sheer length and competitiveness of that initial coding round.
