I went through an HR round and then a phone call, and the main thing that defined the whole technical moment was a set of complex LeetCode-style questions.

The framing felt like the interviewer wanted near-perfect solutions, not partial progress or iterative thinking.

Because it was structured around those harder coding tasks, it left me with the feeling that it wasn’t the best way to assess a senior engineer in a meaningful way. Even though the conversation itself wasn’t hostile, the emphasis on getting the “right” answers under those constraints overshadowed everything else.
