My interview trail started with an HR behavioral round, then I took a CodeSignal assessment, then I went into a face-to-face technical sequence.

The technical portion included a 75-minute pair programming round and then a system design round.

The whole thing ended after the system design interview, and I was rejected after that final technical stage. The experience felt like a typical multi-round pipeline, but it also made the rejection feel especially final since it came right at the end.

I didn’t get an offer, and the main feeling was that everything had to go well all the way through system design—there wasn’t another chance to recover after that point.
