My interview was online, and the coding environment included extra code that was meant to support the exercise, but it ended up distracting me more than I expected.

Debugging felt confusing at first because the extra scaffolding blurred what I was responsible for versus what was already provided.

As I kept working, I adjusted and started to navigate the setup more comfortably. Once I got used to the structure, the environment stopped feeling as hostile.

Still, I didn’t receive an offer. My reflection was that the platform setup mattered more than I thought—it briefly pulled my attention away from solving the problem and toward untangling the tooling around it.
