My first step was an initial phone screen that was very test-like.

It was about 30 minutes, and it jumped straight into data structures and algorithm questions plus an unexpected CSS topic where I had to explain the box model. I wasn’t told beforehand what to expect, so the whole thing felt like I was being interrogated rather than evaluated in a conversation.

I didn’t end up going further, and the main thing I remember is how unpersonable the tone was. It wasn’t just the questions—it was the lack of framing and the sense that the interviewer was moving quickly through prompts with little room to connect.
