SoFi Software Engineer interview experience

RemoteCandidate report, summarized by Dataford

After an HR conversation, my path into the process didn’t stay the same as what I’d first expected.

I was told I’d initially be moved straight into interviews, but that the team’s decision changed it so I had to go through a Karat round first. After I passed Karat, I’d then move on to the loop interview. The Karat round felt unfamiliar mainly because I couldn’t find much concrete information beforehand.

In the Karat step, I did an AI-assisted coding task inside a complete codebase. I was given a requirement and asked to implement a feature, then iterate with a second requirement that changed the constraints. The first task focused on adding accessibility features for disabled individuals
