My interview path included a Python test that felt poorly managed from the start.

I went through an interview with a lead developer after a setup connected to a startup acquired by Snap. The interviewer was mainly interested in identifying missing knowledge, even in small gaps.

What made it more frustrating than it needed to be was the lack of communication around a pre-task. I reached out to the recruiter to send the pre-task that wasn’t provided before the test, and I never received a reply.

I didn’t receive an offer. The experience was hard to shake because it wasn’t just the technical side—it was the feeling that basic coordination didn’t happen.
