San Francisco, CAPosted Jan 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I applied through Slack’s website and the pace felt quick right away.

After applying, I did a HackerRank online assessment and then made it to an onsite-style summit. The later part of the process shifted to a behavioral interview over Zoom.

What stood out most was the tone: the interviewer was supportive, and the process felt pretty cool rather than adversarial. The rounds weren’t overly complicated, but the behavioral step was clearly designed to get to the real person behind the résumé. I didn’t get an offer, but I left with the sense that they were actively engaged in the conversation instead of just checking boxes.
