Shopify Software Engineer interview experience

I went through a coding exercise, then a “manager’s story” style interview, and later moved into system design—followed by a deeper system design discussion that dug into details.

Even though it was marked difficult, the questions were presented in a way that didn’t feel adversarial. I walked out feeling like I’d been tested across multiple layers of engineering thinking, but I didn’t receive an offer.
