Before any in-person meeting, I had to do an online interview where I recorded myself answering questions.

At the time, it felt stressful because I couldn’t adjust in real time the way you can during a live call. Even so, my location was laid back, and once I got to the in-person stage the atmosphere was calmer.

The experience overall didn’t turn into anything overly complicated. It felt like a gatekeeping step more than a heavy evaluation, and it kept the process moving toward a store-level conversation. I didn’t receive an offer, but I appreciated that it wasn’t endless and that the in-person part felt more comfortable than the recorded step.
