I ended up getting an opportunity through meeting someone in HR directly after being laid off.

I came in with my resume, and the HR employee seemed impressed with my previous experience. The offer came the same day, and the store manager also felt genuinely nice during the discussion.

In a different short, very easy interview experience, the manager basically went over what the job was like, asked if I had any questions, and then asked if I was interested. Once I said yes, I got the job—no complicated process, and it was even my first job, which made it feel even more approachable.
