Scotiabank Software Engineer interview experience

The whole thing felt fairly straightforward and more about getting a read on me than trying to catch me off guard.

The technical conversation covered a mix of topics, including SQL and Python, plus a handful of other general technical questions. I didn’t get the sense that it was a heavy algorithm gauntlet, and the questions stayed grounded in practical language and query knowledge. Overall, it felt like an interview built to measure baseline capability and how I think through day-to-day technical work.
