I had a two-part interview process.

The first part was a phone conversation with HR covering the basics and then ending with a few very basic technical questions, including Kirchhoff’s laws and how power is distributed. The second part was a technical interview with a potential supervisor, and it went much deeper into both programming and power systems.

What made it harder was that they expected follow-ups as I answered their initial questions, so I couldn’t just give a first-pass response and move on. I didn’t receive an offer, but the experience felt like they were actively probing how I’d reason in real depth.
