SAS Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Easy

Negative

New York, NYPosted Jul 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The interview process itself took about a month, and it ended without an offer for a reason that surprised me: they didn’t want a remote employee at my experience level.

Everything leading up to that felt like it was moving forward normally, but the final decision undercut the progress I thought I was making.

The difficulty wasn’t what made it tough—the timeline and the end reason did. It felt wasteful in hindsight, like the decision had been leaning negative while I was still being pulled through the steps. No offer came through, and I was left with the main reflection that it would have been better to align on what they could truly support for remote work much earlier.
