After a phone interview, I was called back with feedback that I was overqualified.

That was the end of the process for me, and it left the impression that the interview wasn’t really about assessing my fit for the level they needed.

Separately, the way the process was described around me included a typical sequence of a phone screen followed by personal and group interviews with managers, often paired with tours of the fab and facilities and a lunch or reception. In my case, it simply didn’t reach that broader onsite stage.
