My first call was with a recruiter, and they referred me to a talent coordinator.

That first conversation stayed focused on my current role and my deal sizes. The recruiter told me the deal size range for the role they were hiring for was much larger than what I’d been selling, and that I’d have to explain the gap if I moved forward.

I did get in with the hiring manager, and the surprise there was that she told me the deal sizes for their needs were closer to what I already sold. It didn’t match what the recruiter had said, and it made the whole track feel inconsistent.

Two days later I received an email to coordinate another interview for a completely different role.
