Newark, NJPosted Feb 2019 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I experienced the interview as more challenging than most, mostly because the questions were job-specific and research-oriented in a way that required real depth.

The structure had roughly three rounds with professors, and I could feel the pace and expectations vary depending on the department.

At some point, I was asked for a case-study style discussion tied to ongoing research, which pushed me to think beyond just describing past work. Throughout, they also drilled into my prior experiences with specific questions and wanted me to talk extensively about my role and what I had actually done. I didn’t receive an offer, but I left feeling like they were genuinely testing how I’d operate in the day-to-day research environment.
