I didn’t go through a typical “research analyst” interview from the candidate side so much as I experienced an interview that was designed to set a friendly tone and make the process comfortable.

The questions started with background basics—my education, work experience, and relevant skills—then moved into what I wanted and what motivated me.

The interview also emphasized goals and motivations in a pretty direct way, including long-term career aims and what drove me to want to do the work. The whole thing felt more like an introduction and a way to understand my perspective than a hard technical screen. It didn’t result in an offer for me, but the experience did feel welcoming and structured around understanding the person rather than testing edge-case knowledge.
