After a recruiter phone screen, I had an interview with a Sales Development Manager that also included a mock sales call.

The whole thing felt encouraging and patient, and I remember the interviewer focusing on creating a comfortable rhythm rather than putting me on the spot.

The mock call format made it feel practical—like they were testing how I’d handle conversations, not just whether I could talk about sales in general. Feedback came across as constructive throughout the interaction. Even without an offer, the feel was that they were genuinely interested in understanding how I work, and the process didn’t feel adversarial.
