From the beginning, the process leaned heavily on assessments that felt formal and high-stakes.

I took an online exam first, then I interviewed with my potential superior, and then I interviewed again with their boss. After that, I had to take the exam a second time while someone watched over me via video.

The second version of the exam stood out to me because it felt less about testing the skills themselves and more about verifying integrity—like the format was designed to catch cheating. Even if I managed to do well on the first assessment, the proctored follow-up still made everything feel tense and overly scrutinized.

Beyond the interview rounds, there was a real time commitment.
