I interviewed for Security Engineer in a comparatively entry-level, fundamentals-first path, and the process felt straightforward even though it still stretched through multiple interviews.

HR / recruiter step — I had an introductory HR conversation about benefits and logistics.
Intro technical questioning — A technical lead asked a small set of direct questions (around 10) appropriate for an entry position.
Screening and basics check — Other experiences in this set emphasized networking and security basics like common ports and core concepts.
Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that the bar leaned toward foundational knowledge and straightforward communication.
