Chicago, ILPosted Apr 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had an unusually unpleasant process for a software engineer/data-scientist hybrid path, despite a very light take-home test and a fast move to onsite.

Hiring manager intro — I spoke with the hiring manager about the hybrid focus and got pulled into the process quickly.
Take-home test — A short home assignment on vectorization in NLP (answered in about an hour) with very easy prompts.
Onsite (manager + technical + other round) — The day included additional interviews, starting again with another manager discussion before moving into other evaluation components.

Outcome: I wasn’t offered the role; the takeaway was that even with an easy-looking technical screen, the overall process still felt broken and disappointing.
