Red Hat Software Engineer interview experience

Not SpecifiedCandidate report, summarized by Dataford

The first thing I was given was a take-home assignment.

I had a couple of days—around two to three—to complete it, and it involved scripting work in bash and Java (or another language). The assignment was the clear focal point of the early stage, and it set a different tone than a typical quick interview.

I finished what I could within the time window, but I didn’t see it progress to an offer. Looking back, the take-home format made the process feel slower and more judgment-heavy than the live rounds I was used to, and that contrast was the most memorable part of the experience.
