I had a different kind of first step: instead of jumping straight into a live interview, I recorded video answers to a set of questions.

The format was asynchronous, and the idea was that the team would review what I said and then email me if I moved forward.

After submitting the recordings, I waited for their decision. The process felt straightforward in terms of logistics but also a little uncomfortable because I couldn’t adjust in real time the way I can in a live call.

I didn’t receive an offer from that process, and the main thing I remember was how much the video format changed the experience—less about interaction, more about presenting clearly without feedback.
