Instead of going through typical LeetCode-style problems, I got a practical web-crawling challenge that felt much closer to real engineering work.

The whole technical coding session felt relevant, and I appreciated that it let me demonstrate practical engineering skills rather than just memorized algorithm patterns.

I found it refreshing because the problem looked like it could plausibly map to what their product actually does. The process took about two weeks, and by the time I reached the end, I still wasn’t offered the role. The experience left me with a more positive view of the technical interview quality than the final decision.
