Publicis Sapient Software Engineer interview experience

I went into the interview expecting a DevOps-focused infrastructure engineer discussion, but during the interview I realized the company really needed an admin-style person managing cloud operations rather than a DevOps engineer specifically.

That mismatch caught me off guard, and it also made me feel like the interviewer hadn’t reviewed my resume closely enough.

I didn’t see Terraform-related questions at all, which was another surprise given my DevOps expectations. The difficulty sat around average, but the experience felt off because the conversation centered on different assumptions about infra fundamentals like networking and VPC design. I didn’t get an offer, and afterward my main reflection was that aligning role scope matters as much as technical depth.
