My process looked like a two-stage technical flow plus the rest of the pipeline.

The first round started with a technical test, and then the second round was a longer, roughly two-hour interview. The topics they covered were pretty wide across the backend ecosystem—core Java and DSA showed up, along with microservices and AWS.

They also asked about SQL, design patterns, saga, and concepts around an API gateway, so it wasn’t just one area. Overall, it felt like an average-to-challenging evaluation of how the fundamentals connected to real system design. I left with the sense that they expected depth across multiple layers rather than surface-level familiarity.
