Project44 Software Engineer interview experience

That technical call was a mix of CS fundamentals and backend-specific questioning, and because my background was Java-heavy, the interviewer leaned into Java quite a bit.

I remember the difficulty feeling real compared to the typical introductory screen—more like a true technical filter than a warm conversation. The content wasn’t narrow in the sense of only one topic; it covered fundamentals plus backend topics, with Java taking center stage.

I didn’t receive an offer, and overall it felt like a straightforward but tougher-than-expected technical evaluation carried out over the phone.
