I interviewed for Point72’s Business Analyst role with an easy-to-moderate difficulty where the math felt manageable, but the goal of each question required careful interpretation.

Brain-teaser style problem solving — I expected brainteasers and math equation work before solving for the variables.
Determine which solution targets the right PM/analyst — the trickiness was figuring out the minimum set-up that would align with what a PM or analyst actually needed. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that even when the mechanics feel easy, you still have to understand what the prompt is really asking.
