Point72 Quantitative Researcher interview experience

Negative

TaipeiPosted Jul 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview had an unexpectedly hostile tone.

I started with self-introduction, and then I got pulled into detailed explanations about machine learning models that were listed on my resume.

As the conversation went on, the interviewer’s attitude turned rude and the pace became rough. They kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain, and the overall vibe made me feel dismissed and defeated rather than engaged.

I didn’t end up receiving an offer. The reflection that stuck was how much the interpersonal conduct shaped the experience, even though the technical content was tied to my background.
