For the point72 quant research intern role, I was asked a very dense set of questions that felt like they were jumping straight into technical depth.

The topics included portfolio optimization, linear regression, and how to handle missing values.

They also asked about how to treat categorical variables, along with backtesting and time series. The interview didn’t stop at those standard areas either—I was questioned on convex optimization as well.

I didn’t get an offer. What I remember most was how specialized and comprehensive the questioning was, and how quickly it moved from one quantitative subject to the next without much padding.
