The round I remember most was a panel interview, and it started with support from an internal HR recruiter who came across as professional and helpful.

I liked how organized she was and how much she assisted me leading up to the meeting.

The panel itself was mostly positive in tone—most people were good-natured and upbeat—but there was one exception: the leader seemed displeased and didn’t really engage. I could tell the dynamic wasn’t headed in a good direction, and I left feeling pretty certain it wasn’t going to go my way.

There was no offer. I still appreciated HR’s professionalism, but the lack of engagement from that one interviewer made the outcome feel inevitable.
